POA is the global academic community of Orthopaedics for innovative education and research in Orthopaedic care, inspiring lifelong learning and improving patients’ lives.

POA Fellowship is a prestigious clinical network of institutions that provides approved standard of training and education to shape our fellows skills and understanding of Orthopaedic principles. To establish incentives for the sharing of knowledge, POA invests in various forms of international & national fellowships. At the moment there are 46 fellowship slots available in different subspecialties of Orthopaedic surgery. Out of these, three are reserved for foreign fellows, which are on self-finance basis. These fellowships are available in the following sub

  1. Arthroplasty
  2. Spine surgery
  3. Orthopaedic Trauma
  4. Paediatric Orthopaedics
  5. Orthopaedic Oncology
  6. Deformity Correction and Bone Regeneration
  7. Hand surgery

POA Fellowship provides the following benefits:

  •  Additional hands On experience in surgical techniques for fully trained Orthopaedics
    surgeons interested in subspecialties
  •  Rotation amongst different POA accredited centres
  •  National clinical experience for fellows

 Obtain a fellowship certificate upon the completion of fellowship program


  • All fellowships are hosted by POA accredited Centres.
  •  There are two types of fellowships:
    •  Short-term fellowship: 3 months
    •  Long-term fellowship: one year

Fellowship Requirements

  •  Participate in respective course
  •  Have some previous experience of respective subspecialty
  •  Should not have participated in another fellowship program within the last two years
  • Preferably published at least one to two subspecialty related articles in a peer review journal

All fellowship applicants should submit the following documents to POA Office for completing
the application process:

  •  Curriculum vitae
  •  Fellowship Application
    1. Fill in the application form and submit all the required supplementary documents
      to POA Office via email (pakistanorthopaedicassociation@gmail.com & Link)
    2. POA will evaluate all applications
    3.  POA Office will coordinate fellowship placement for the successful fellows
      according to their preferred Centres
    4. After the fellowship dates are confirmed, Office will issue the final confirmation &
      agreement to fellows
    5. Upon completion of fellowship, fellows are required to send the fellowship
      reports in order to receive fellowship certificate

POA Fellowship Regulations
Fellowship applicants shall not contact Centres directly before the fellowship placement has been confirmed.
